Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacons (RRFB)

The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) has officially canceled the subject Interim Approval (IA) issued on July 1, 2008. The FHWA has learned about the existence of four issued U.S patents. But, from here on out, the FHWA rescinds IA-11 from any and all new installations of RRFB devices.

There is no need to take down any current RRFB systems, they may remain until the end of useful life.

The FHWA, the U.S Department of Transportation and the U.S have expressed zero opinion on the merits and will take no position on the outcome.

There are many different alternatives to the RRFBs, such as our LED Enhanced Traffic Signs. Our 24″ Pedestrian Signs contain 4 embedded LEDs while the other larger sizes contain 8 embedded LEDs. Click on our shop link below to view more details about our signs. There are many different options that can go along with the Pedestrian Sign, so make sure to check it all out! We have various Pedestrian Signs for you to choose from.
