Huge decrease in Teen Traffic Deaths in Past Decade

Back in 2007, there were approximately 155 deaths on the road involving teens.

In 2008, a program came about called, “Graduated License Program” and ever since then, teen deaths have dropped 51%.

As you may know, last week was National Teen Driver Safety Week. At the beginning of last week, there have only been 76 teen traffic deaths versus 155. That is huge.

The number will hopefully continue to decrease, Jesse White credits the Graduated License Program, so hopefully it continues to work it’s magic.

According to, Peoria Public Radio, the program gives teenagers more time to gain experience behind the wheel with a legal guardian or parent.
